Brandon families will be lacing up for conservation this weekend as the Duck and Run Fun Run arrives at the Riverbank Discovery Centre for the first time. The national event, held in communities across Canada and traditionally hosted at Oak Hammock Marsh, lands in Brandon on June 6, 2026, with a mission to support Ducks Unlimited Canada’s wetland protection and restoration work.
The event features 5K and 1K fun runs, welcoming participants of all ages to run, walk, roll or even “waddle” their way along the Riverbank’s scenic routes. Registration is set at $40 for ages 13 and up, $25 for kids 5–12, and free for children under five. Day‑of sign‑in runs from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., with the run officially starting at 10:00.
Each participant receives a commemorative medal, and the top three fundraisers will earn special prizes. Organizers encourage runners to “gather their flock” and make a day of it, with the event designed to bring families outdoors while raising money for critical conservation projects. Participants can also boost their impact by fundraising through their personal DonorDrive pages and tracking progress through the mobile app.
Duck and Run is part of a larger national effort taking place both virtually and in communities across the country on June 6 and 7, helping support Ducks Unlimited Canada’s long‑standing work to protect wetlands, wildlife habitat, and the ecosystems that sustain them.
Registration for the event is available through Ducks Unlimited Canada’s official page at duckandrunbrandon.
Each participant will receive a “Duck and Run” medal like the one displayed in this article.
