Backrooms just made history. The horror hit has now passed $200 million worldwide, becoming A24’s highest-grossing movie ever.
The film has pulled in about $212 million in just 10 days, quickly beating the studio’s previous record holder. A big part of that success comes from its strong fanbase, especially younger audiences who showed up in huge numbers opening weekend.
Directed by Kane Parsons (who also became the youngest director ever to land a number-one movie), Backrooms is proving to be more than just a viral idea turned film. It’s officially a box office powerhouse.
