Due to the devastating flooding in the City of Dauphin and surrounding Parkland communities, the annual National Ukrainian Festival — scheduled for July 30 to August 2 at the Selo Ukraina site south of Dauphin — has been cancelled. Organizers say ticket holders may either request a refund or hold their passes for use at the 2027 festival.
The decision comes as Dauphin remains under a local State of Emergency following historic rainfall and widespread overland flooding. The Dauphin Regional Health Centre sustained severe damage and is currently closed, creating significant challenges for emergency medical care and limiting the community’s ability to safely host large events. Festival organizers say the safety of attendees, volunteers, performers and residents must come first.
In a notice shared on the festival’s Facebook page, the Board of Directors said the flooding has created “unprecedented circumstances” that make it impossible to proceed with the 2026 event. All scheduled activities — including concerts, cultural showcases, food vendors and the annual parade — are cancelled.
The board expressed gratitude to performers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, partners and supporters who had been preparing for months. They also acknowledged the disappointment felt by thousands who look forward to the celebration each summer, noting that the festival is a cherished cultural gathering for Ukrainian communities across Canada.
Organizers say they are already looking ahead, promising that the spirit of the festival will return stronger in 2027. Full details on refunds and ticket rollovers are available through the festival’s official channels.
This notice was posted on the event’s Facebook page Thursday evening.
