Farm Credit Canada is stepping in to support producers across Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba as flooding and severe weather continue to delay field operations and strain farm finances.
FCC senior vice‑president Angy Porteous says the lender is committed to standing by producers long‑term, and is prepared to offer short‑term credit options, defer principal payments and explore other flexible solutions to help ease financial pressure. The corporation is also backing investments that strengthen resilience to weather‑related risks, including water management, drainage, flood mitigation and other climate‑adaptation projects.
Porteous says the focus is on helping producers maintain cash flow, stay operational and recover from the impacts of this season’s extreme conditions. Producers affected by severe weather are encouraged to contact their FCC relationship manager or reach the Customer Service Centre at 1‑888‑332‑3301 to discuss available options.
