A 9-1-1 outage affecting Manitoba communities outside Winnipeg includes Brandon, and the City of Brandon is advising people what numbers to call in the event of an emergency.
In a release, the city said they had been advised of a known issue affecting 911 service, but the disruption wasnot related to the Brandon Public-Safety Communications Centre, and the telecommunications service provider is actively working to resolve the issue.
Residents in Brandon requiring emergency assistance are asked to call the following numbers directly:
- Fire: 204-729-2400
- Police: 204-729-2345
- Ambulance: 204-625-2111
The Brandon Public-Safety Communications Centre provides 911 dispatch services to communities across Manitoba outside of Winnipeg. Residents in other municipalities are encouraged to contact their local emergency services directly using published emergency phone numbers until 911 service is restored.
