Breach of the Peace
On July 26th at 6:50 p.m. police were called to a house on Darrach Bay as a known to them female was intoxicated on the front lawn. The female could be heard yelling and causing a disturbance in the background of the call. Police attended and located the 19-year-old intoxicated and uncooperative female. She was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. She will be released once sober.
Arrest Warrant
On July 26th at 10:33 p.m. police attended a house in the 900 block of 1st Street to check for a 40-year-old male on his Warrant (Carry Concealed Weapon / Failure to Attend Court). The male was located, arrested and brought to BPS so that he could attend court in the morning on Monday, July 27th, 2026.
Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours, one individual was arrested under the PDCIPA.
At approximately 12:44 a.m. on July 27th, an individual attended BPS property and was observed looking through the windows at the employee entrance. Police checked on the male, who was found to be highly intoxicated. To ensure his well-being, he was taken into custody under the PDCIPA to be released once sober.
Break and Enter with Intent / Mischief to Property
On July 27th at approximately 3:28 a.m., police responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence in the 500 block of Princess Avenue East, where it was reported that an individual had entered the home and was making noise banging around inside. Police attended and located the 28-year-old female suspect across the street from the residence. The investigation determined that she had gained entry to the home through a window and stated that she had entered to retrieve a sweater. A window screen was damaged during the entry. The female was arrested and held in BPS detention cells. She will be released on an Undertaking once she is sober. A court appearance has been scheduled for September 28th, 2026.
Assault with a Weapon / Possession of a Weapon
On July 27th at 5:30 a.m., police received a report that a male had attempted to stab a security guard at Princess Park. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect and his last known direction of travel. Police located the 28-year-old male a few blocks from the park. The investigation determined that the security guard had been checking the public washrooms when the male was found sleeping inside. After being awakened, the male became agitated, produced a pocketknife, and lunged at the security guard.
When officers located the male, they recovered a pocketknife from his possession. He was arrested and transported to BPS for processing. He will be released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court appearance on September 28th, 2026.
Break and Enter
Midafternoon of July 26th, police received a report of a break and enter at a building located at a livestock yard. The investigation determined that locks had been cut and windows had been broken to gain entry. At the time nothing appeared to have been stolen. The incident remains under investigation.
