A Brandon youth made it home safely Wednesday after police say a man chased her with a knife while she was walking home from school.
The suspect was arrested minutes later after the girl spotted him near Louise Avenue. Police say the man was heavily intoxicated by drugs and was taken to hospital before being lodged in custody.

A routine traffic stop in Brandon turned into a drug seizure Tuesday night.
Police say officers found 15 packaged bags of cocaine and nearly $5,000 in cash. A 40-year-old woman faces trafficking, proceeds of crime and release-order breach charges.
🚨 Man Escapes Alleged Kidnapping
RCMP say a man abducted from Ebb and Flow First Nation escaped from a moving vehicle after allegedly being assaulted and held against his will.
The victim suffered multiple cuts. A 44-year-old Sandy Bay man has been arrested, and police say weapons believed to have been used in the attack were seized.
