Brandon’s ‘Operation Red Nose’ campaign for 2022 officially kicks off Monday, November 21st.
‘Operation Red Nose’ helps keep roads safer throughout the holidays in over 100 communities across Canada. A team of three volunteers pick you up, and get you and your vehicle home safely. The service is free, but donations are accepted and proceeds go towards local youth sports initiatives in the community.
Last year, nearly $4,000 was raised in Brandon with 151 volunteers providing 339 rides. Country-wide, the service raised over $87,270.
Local organizers say they’ll need at least 150 volunteers as they’re expecting to provide upwards of 400 rides or more this holiday season.
Operation Red Nose opens for service on Friday, November 25 from 9 pm to 3 am and wraps up on New Year’s Eve.
