-The Brandon Wheat Kings will try and get back into their first-round playoff series with a win at home tonight against Moose Jaw. The Warriors lead 2-0.
-The Virden Oil Capitals will face the Winkler Flyers in Round 2 of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League playoffs. Virden topped the Neepawa Titans 4-3 Tuesday night to take their best-of-7 West Division semifinal 4 games to 2. Tonight, the OCN Blizzard host the Dauphin Kings in a deciding Game 7 of their opening round series. The winner will meet the defending champion Steinbach Pistons in the semifinals.
-Canada’s Brad Gushue is now 6-and-1, and alone in second place, at the world men’s curling championship after a 7-4 win over the Netherlands this morning. Canada plays again this afternoon against South Korea. Sweden leads the tournament at 7-and-0.
-and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Houston Astros 2-1. The series wraps-up today.
