Monday is solar eclipse day, and it looks like the weather will co-operate here in Brandon so we can see it.
Brandon University will be offering telescopes and will have welding glasses available for a dollar each to view the eclipse, which will be a partial one. The moon will take a 50 to 60-percent bite out of the sun.
BU will have everything set up from 12:45 pm to 3:00 pm when the eclipse ends. It’ll peak at 2:00 pm. The Brandon School Division says it’ll be keeping students inside during the eclipse.
In Brandon, the last total solar eclipse was in 1979, and the last partial eclipse was in August 2017.
