-In the NHL playoffs – the Boston Bruins beat the Florida Panthers 2-1. Florida still leads the series 3-2 – and the Edmonton Oilers downed the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 to tie their series at 2. Tonight – the Dallas Stars can knock-off the Colorado Avalanche.
-The Moose Jaw Warriors are a win away from their first Western Hockey League Championship after beating the Portland Winterhawks 4-3 in overtime last night. Game 4 goes tonight.
-Canada beat Austria 7-6 in overtime at the Men’s World Hockey Championship in Prague. The Canadians sit atop Group A with 8 points, tied with Switzerland, and play Norway on Thursday.
-In the Professional Women’s Hockey League playoffs – Boston beat Montreal 3-2 in overtime. Boston, which swept Montreal in the best-of-five series, will play for the inaugural Walter Cup against either Minnesota or Toronto. Toronto leads the series 2-1 with Game 4 tonight.
-The MJHL Champion Winkler Flyers lost 3-2 in a shoot-out to the Miramichi Timberwolves in their final preliminary round game at the Centennial Cup in Oakville, Ontario. The Flyers will play in Friday’s quarterfinals against either the Calgary Canucks or Navan Grads.
