The poor state of some of Brandon’s streets has been a hot topic this year with potholes the number one complaint. According to the city’s ‘Streets and Roads’ department, between this past January and May – city crews have filled 20,947 potholes. Here’s how that compares to the past several years:

Winnipeg reported this week its street crews have repaired close to 200,000 potholes, a big jump from 98,000 in 2023. They say a contributing factor has been all the rain the last three months.
In Brandon, summer construction is now underway with a major project happening on 18th Street to upgrade sewers and watermains.
