Arrest Warrants
On July 10th police located and arrested several individuals throughout the day who were wanted on outstanding charges:
A 38-year-old male will appear in court on July 11th, 2024, on a charge of Failure to Attend Court.
A 26-year-old female will appear in court on July 11th, 2024, on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance, Assaulting a Police Officer, and Failure to Attend Court.
An 85-year-old man will appear in court on August 8th, 2024, on charges of Obtaining Sexual Services and Fail to Comply with Undertaking.
Possession of a Weapon
At 6:00PM police received a call of a male walking into an establishment in the 200 block of 8th Street with a knife. The suspect, a 56-year-old male, was located by police and allegedly discarded a knife upon police approaching. The male was released on Undertaking with a court date set for September 12, 2024.
Fraud Under $5000
On June 3rd, 2024, Windsor Police Service forwarded a Fraud Under $5000 investigation to Brandon Police Service as it was believed the suspect lives in Brandon. On July 10th Brandon police interviewed an 18-year-old male regarding the report of $900 being transferred for concert tickets, but tickets never being sent. The male was released on Appearance Notice and has a court date set for September 23, 2024, on the charge of Fraud Under $5000.
Theft Under $5000 / Public Mischief
On July 10th at 4:24PM police were called to an establishment in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue after a report a male had stolen several packs of meat. Police attended the establishment, viewed video footage and soon located the accused. Police were provided with a false name. Upon obtaining his true identity the 22-year-old male had fingerprints taken and was released on Undertaking with a court date of September 9th, 2024, with charges of Theft Under $5000 and Public Mischief.
Theft Under $5000
On July 10th at 4:32PM police were called to the same establishment in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue unrelated to the previous theft 10 minutes prior. Police attended the establishment, viewed video footage and soon located the accused. A bag full of stolen goods were recovered and returned to the establishment. The 30-year-old male was released with Undertaking and a court date set for September 23, 2024, with charges of Theft Under $5000.
Domestic Assault
On July 10th, 2024, a report of domestic assault x2 was made. The statement was taken, the suspect was located and charged with Domestic Assault. A court date of August 1, 2024, has been set.
