At a news conference on Tuesday (July 23), Winnipeg Police said they arrested two people May 11 when they got off a plane at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, and seized 24 kilograms of cocaine, with a street value of $2.4 million, from their luggage.
The women, aged 30 and 32, have been charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Police say they were part of a cocaine-trafficking network that supplied drugs to Winnipeg, Brandon and Portage la Prairie.
Brandon police say the operation was bringing about 2 kilograms of cocaine into the city each month.
