After more than two months, RCMP say they have tracked down a high-risk sex offender who had been on the run from them since July 3.
In July, RCMP announced they were looking for Clay Byron Starr, also known as Chad Crate, Clayton Starr, Richard Starr, Clay Richard, and Byron Richard. He was wanted for breaching his conditions.
According to their release, Starr was to reside on Sandy Bay First Nation, but had been evading them. Known to frequent both Brandon and Winnipeg, Starr was also described as “a high risk to re-offend in a sexual manner” toward women.
Police announced his arrest at 3:04 PM on September 5. They thanked the public and media for their assistance.
