RCMP are investigating after a shooting on O-Chi-Chak-Ko-Sipi First Nation (Crane River) that left a 35-year-old man dead. A 14-year-old has turned himself in according to police.
In a release, RCMP said they were called to a home on Crane River on October 21 at about 1:00 AM. When they arrived, they found the 35-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound. They and two other residents tried to save the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A few hours after the shooting, police said a 14-year-old boy approached them at the scene and turned himself in, which they said was related to the homicide. He was charged with 2nd degree murder and remanded into custody.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP, along with RCMP Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services, continue to investigate.
