16 new security guards have been hired by Prairie Mountain Health to patrol Brandon Regional Health Centre. The Institutional Safety Officers were trained in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques, search and investigation, evidence collecting and report writing. Up to 4 guards will work per shift.

A 29-year-old woman faces several charges after being arrested by Dauphin RCMP last Saturday. Angel Chartrand was charged with impaired driving and drug trafficking after a routine traffic stop. Police seized a number of illicit drugs, including methamphetamine, cocaine and various prescription medications.

A new disciplinary process and online registry for Manitoba teachers is now in effect. You can search the public registry by name and see whether a teacher has had their certificate suspended or cancelled. The government says a new system for investigating complaints against teachers is also now in place.
