Brandon’s Police Chief shared the stats Friday; that showed a dramatic 5,322 per cent increase in meth seizures compared to 2023
The police service seized over 105 kilograms of meth last year, underscoring the growing accessibility and availability of these dangerous substances. The seizure of other illicit drugs, such as fentanyl and cocaine, also saw alarming increases.
-New charges have been laid in a horrific Child porn investigation. Hundreds of hours of pornographic imagery of children were discovered after police raided a home in Brandon and arrested a man who was involved in foster parenting and connected with a daycare, last week.
Police are withholding the accused’s name to protect the identify of the children who lived at the home and attended the daycare; was originally charged with making child pornography, possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography, distributing child pornography and sexual assault.
While in jail; Police added charges including sexual interference, defined in the Criminal Code as touching someone under the age of 16 for a sexual purpose.
-A 20-year-old male driver was arrested for impaired driving Friday Night. Police conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of 17th street N with a vehicle that was being driven at a high rate of speed. He will appear in court February 13th
