There’s a possibility the fireworks show scheduled for Friday, June 6th at the Manitoba Summer Fair in Brandon might not go ahead.
Organizers say “the safety of our community is our highest priority. We’re working closely with municipal authorities and the local fire commissioner to monitor conditions and will strictly follow all provincial and municipal regulations. If it is deemed safe, we look forward to lighting up the Brandon skies to celebrate this wonderful community tradition. However, if conditions aren’t safe, we will make the responsible choice and not proceed with fireworks this year. Safety isn’t just about fireworks, it’s woven into every aspect of our Fair, from food safety to guest well-being and beyond.”
Tim Rowan, Co-Chair of the Manitoba Summer Fair and Vice President of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba, says, “Safety and community responsibility guide every decision we make at the Manitoba Summer Fair. While we eagerly anticipate our annual fireworks, our foremost concern is ensuring the safety and well-being of our guests, vendors, staff, and community.”
Rowan adds “Thank you for your understanding and support as we prioritize safety and community above all.
