The Brandon Police Service has offered a tragic update on the ongoing search for 18-year-old Owen Bedford.
In a post on their Facebook page, Brandon Police said Bedford’s body had been found in the river. They said his identity had been formally confirmed.
“At this time, our thoughts are with Owen’s family and friends as they navigate this incredibly difficult and painful time,” reads the Facebook post. “We extend our deepest sympathies and stand with them in their grief.”
Police added they were grateful for the community support and effort during the search. Bedford had been missing since the morning of Sunday, June 15. He had most recently been seen on Victoria Avenue.
