The nomination period for candidates for a coming by-election has passed, and seven people have met the nomination requirements.
In a release, the Brandon School Division said Laura Armitage, Michael Grantham, Bonnie-Lynn Mills, Shawna Mozdzen, Eren Oleson, Himanshu Shah, and Henry Sieklicki will be the nominees for school board trustee. The by-election will be on October 16.
“In addition to Election Day, Advance Voting opportunities will be available on October 8th and 11th at Brandon City Hall and the Pioneer Lounge at the Keystone Centre respectively,” reads the release from BSD. “An eligible voter may also apply to vote by Sealed Envelope if they have reason to believe that they will be unable to vote at a regular Voting Place on Election Day or during Advance Voting opportunities.”
The election is required because former trustee Blaine Foley resigned earlier this year.
