A CH-146 Griffon helicopter from 408 Tactical Helicopter Squadron will conduct flying operations in Brandon from November 3-9, 2025.
According to a media release, residents can expect to see the aircraft take off and land within city limits during the week.
The Royal Canadian Air Force says “the aircraft is participating in routine training activities, including air mobility tasks in support of Canadian Army training. The aircraft will operate at altitudes no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on their route and will be configured with weapons; however, they will not be carrying any ammunition. Flight activities may generate unfamiliar noise and attract the attention of local residents.
Flights are meticulously planned and closely monitored to ensure public safety, with operations contingent on weather and flying conditions.”
The Royal Canadian Horse Artillery (RCHA) will also be conducting training at various parks in and near Brandon Nov 6 and 7, 2025. The training will include a public open-house portion on the 6th between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm. at the Riverbank Discovery Centre.
During this time, residents are welcome to check out some of the M777 artillery guns and meet some of the soldiers.
The training is in support of an annual artillery exercise known as LIMBER GUNNER to ensure the readiness of RCHA units.
