Forty years after its initial release, “Back To The Future” is still making waves at the box office. To celebrate the 40th anniversary, the film returned to movie theaters for a brief run and took in $4.9-million dollars. While that number is not impressive on its surface, consider the film can be watched very easily at home for free, and has been for decades. That box office take also helped the film reach a new milestone. “Back To The Future” has now joined the list of the 200 highest-grossing films in U.S. box office history. The re-release helped push the film’s domestic total to $220-million and worldwide revenue to $393-million. That places the film at #200 on the all-time domestic box office chart, surpassing “Mission: Impossible – Fallout,” which previously held the #200 spot.
