In just a few short weeks, The Central Perk Coffeehouse will be there for you and your friends. The real-life version of the beloved hangout from “Friends” is opening in New York City’s Times Square on December 5th.
It’s not an exact replica of the one on the sitcom, it has a reimagined design with expansive glass windows and updated decor, but it’s still loaded with nostalgic references fans will love. This Central Perk will feature artwork by pop artist Burton Morris, whose colorful works were seen in more than 130 episodes of “Friends.” The same creative team that opened the first location in Boston two years ago worked on this one.

What’s on the menu at The Central Perk Coffeehouse? It will include some items from the Boston location, like Chandler’s Chocolate Cold Foam Latte, Blended Princess Consuela’s Banana Mocha and Oh.My.Gawd! Coldbrew, along with some signature food and beverages:
- The One with NYC Matcha – A nod to the sitcom’s episode names, it’s a layered iced matcha latte blended with oat milk, strawberry purée and topped with a savory cream cheese cold foam.
- NY Relaxi Taxi Tall Iced Cooler – This one’s a reference to Rachel and Phoebe’s “massage cab” business idea and it’s made with half lemonade, half iced green tea, topped with lavender syrup mixed with sparkling water.
- The Tribbiani – This sandwich was created by “Top Chef” judge Tom Colicchio in honor of sandwich lover Joey Tribbiani. It’s made with freshly sliced prosciutto, soppressata, capicola, cotta, coppa, provolone, lettuce, giardiniera, olive oil and vinegar on semolina hero bread.
- Culinary attractions also include Joey’s Meatball Sandwich, Rachel’s Green “Side” Salad, Weekend at Caesars Salad, and Mama’s Little Bakery Cheesecake.
“For me, food has always been about bringing people together, and that’s exactly what Central Perk represents,” Colicchio says. “Having the opportunity to help guide the menu for such an iconic concept in the middle of New York City is a thrill.”
