The closing ceremony for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Games kicked off with a tribute to Italian opera Sunday. The mayors handed over the Olympic flag to the next Winter Games host: France. The Olympic flame was extinguished, marking the end of the 17-day Winter Games.

Bars and restaurants in the Mb were allowed to sell alcohol before the puck dropped just after 7:00 am Sunday morning, as Canada’s Men’s Hockey Team played the U-S for the gold medal…. in a heartbreaking overtime loss 2-1. Connor Hellebuyck who plays for the Winnipeg Jets made several great saves against Canadians, who were on the attack all game and outshot the Americans.

Canada’s Curling hero Brad Jacobs lead his men’s team to Olympic Gold with a win over Great Britain on Saturday 9-6. It was Jacob’s second gold medal in 12-years.

Italy came in 3rd with 30 medals.
