- Remitly did the research to find the countries where people are most well-mannered.
- The financial services provider polled 46-hundred people from 26 different countries about their personal experiences and where they’ve been welcomed by polite people.
- Japan is considered the most polite country overall, according to more than a third of respondents (35.15%).
- The country has a culture that values respect and social harmony and their language is even built around honorifics and polite speech. Bowing is also a standard way to greet people in Japan.
- Canada comes in second, being named most polite by 13.35%. But even more impressive? The country is also seen as the world’s friendliest.
- People from Brazil and Chile are the most confident about their own politeness.
