Jamie Dornan is officially taking over the role of Aragorn from Viggo Mortensen in the upcoming “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” marking a major casting shift for the franchise. Warner Bros. revealed the news at CinemaCon, teasing fans on Instagram with the message, “We’ve been waiting for you, precious,” while confirming Dornan will portray the character under the alias Strider. Director Andy Serkis hinted at the change to “ScreenRant” earlier this month, saying, “Let’s just say we are recasting the role and we are on the way to finding someone.” The film will also see returning stars including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Elijah Wood, and Lee Pace, with new additions Kate Winslet and Leo Woodall. The highly anticipated release is set for December 17th, 2027.https://www.instagram.com/p/DXIb-rrkcYm/
