Raye is stepping into a brand new spotlight.
Fresh off the success of her album This Music May Contain Hope, the singer-songwriter has landed her first major acting role in the upcoming London-set crime film Lineage. The project is directed by Yann Demange and features a strong cast including Isabelle Huppert, Dali Benssalah, and Adam Bessa.
The film follows a former prisoner who is pulled back into London’s criminal underworld after being released, setting the stage for a gritty, character-driven story.
While Raye has appeared on screen before — playing herself in Netflix’s Black Rabbit — Lineage marks her first true dramatic acting role. It’s a big step forward as she expands her career beyond music, and a sign that her creative reach is only getting bigger.
