Recovery efforts across the Swan Valley continue to advance, with river levels now down roughly 220 centimetres from peak. Cleanup remains steady as the landfill operates under extended hours through Saturday to handle the surge of flood‑damaged materials. Contractors are making repeated passes through affected neighbourhoods to collect debris placed at the curb.
Additional recovery organizations are arriving in the community. Team Rubicon has been approved to deploy early next week, joining Samaritan’s Purse, Christian Aid Ministries and Christian Disaster Relief. Residents needing cleanup help should continue registering through Samaritan’s Purse at 1‑833‑738‑7743.
In partnership with Manitoba EMO, the Canadian Red Cross will offer one‑on‑one recovery support next week at the Veteran’s Community Hall (Legion Room) on July 14 and 15 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Staff will assist with DFA applications, recovery planning, temporary housing and access to available services.
Mental‑health supports remain available through CMHA and Prairie Mountain Health for anyone struggling during recovery.
The Donation Centre has closed but still has limited cleaning‑supply kits and food hampers available at the Support Centre, which will conclude operations after Saturday’s supper service.
Residents can find ongoing updates, resources, FAQs, safety information and a list of local contractors on the Town’s Flood Information Hub at www.swanrivermanitoba.ca.
The Town thanks all volunteers, organizations and businesses whose efforts continue to support hundreds of affected households as recovery progresses.
