The City of Brandon has released a list of possible reasons why mosquito fogging, scheduled for tomorrow night, might have to be postponed. According to release from the city, fogging will not go ahead if it is raining outside, if the wind speed is greater than 16 kilometers per hour, or if the temperature drops below 13 degrees Celsius.
Fogging is scheduled to begin after 9:30 PM tomorrow night. If it needs to be postponed, the city will notify the public and reschedule to the next suitable evening.

Brandon city council has voted in favour of launching mosquito fogging this week, clearing the way for spraying to begin as early as Wednesday evening. The move comes despite trap counts remaining in the medium range and below the city’s bylaw threshold, which normally requires sustained high numbers before fogging can proceed.
The city says crews are ready with six trucks and foggers, but the supply of DeltaGuard is limited — only enough for two full citywide applications. With the product no longer available in Canada, officials warn that options later in the summer may be constrained if mosquito levels rise again.
Residents will receive 24 hours’ notice before fogging begins, allowing time to register buffer zones or health concerns. Administrators note that provincial stock would be used if West Nile virus became a concern, though those reserves are also shrinking. The city continues to work with provincial and federal partners on long‑term alternatives.
