Organizers of Rockin In The Fields in Minnedosa described the 2026 event as a huge success. While they might have been using different metrics to determine success, local RCMP would term the event a success as well.
Yellowhead RCMP said they received only two calls for service during the entire weekend related to the event. They also said in a Facebook post that no charges were laid as a result of either call.
Their check stops for impaired drivers went similarly smoothly. According to police, officers conducted two check stops, stopping more than 300 vehicles. Every driver provided a breath sample as part of mandatory alcohol screening. They issued two 72-hour roadside suspensions, one to a 74-year-old male from Minnedosa and another to a 68-year-old male from Eden. In addition, a 24-hour roadside suspension was issued to an 18-year-old male from the RM of North Norfolk.
“It was a great success,” said Rob Woloschuk, producer and promoter for Rockin In The Fields. “Everybody had a great time, all the bands had a great time. I’m going to go out on a limb and say it was the best year ever.”
Woloschuk also said the event included a sold-out Saturday.
