A nine-year-old girl has died of injuries sustained in a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) rollover outside a residence in the RM of Dauphin, according to Dauphin RCMP.
Police said they were called to the rollover along with Dauphin Fire Department and paramedics at about 5:15 PM on August 31. They also said a 40-year-old man was driving the UTV with his daughter as the passenger. The side-by-side vehicle had made a turn while driving on the property towards the residence when it rolled.
First responders on the scene attempted life-saving measures, but the child succumbed to her injuries before she could be taken to hospital.
According to police, her father was transported to hospital in Winnipeg with non-life-threatening injuries.
