Halloween fans in Westman will have a new reason to scream this October.
Nightmares in Westman is opening Friday, October 2, at the Alexander Arena, bringing two separate indoor haunted attractions to the region. The new attraction aims to provide a local Halloween entertainment option for residents of Brandon, Alexander and surrounding communities.
One of the haunted experiences features a lantern-based format that sends guests through dark corridors with only a lantern to light the way. Organizers say the second attraction delivers a more traditional haunted-house experience, complete with live actors, fog, lighting effects and themed scenes.
Co-owner Justin Grenier says the goal is to offer something different from the typical haunted house while still delivering plenty of scares. Having two separate attractions under one roof allows visitors to choose between two distinct experiences.
The haunt is located inside the Alexander Arena at 406 1st Avenue and will operate rain or shine throughout October. Organizers recommend the experience for ages 13 and older, although younger guests are welcome to attend.
Nightmares in Westman will be open every Friday and Saturday in October from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets start at $25 plus tax during the first two weekends and increase later in the month, reaching $35 plus tax on Halloween weekend.
Tickets are available online at nightmaresinwestman.ca.
