Brandon voters will head to the polls on October 28 to elect a mayor, city councillors and school board trustees, with several advance and alternative voting options available before election day.
What’s on the Ballot?
The municipal election includes the Office of the Mayor and councillor races in Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Ward 6 has already been filled by acclamation.
Voters will also elect eight trustees for the Brandon School Division’s city ward. The rural school board ward has been filled by acclamation.
Advance Voting Opportunities
Residents can vote early at the following locations:
- October 14: Brandon City Hall (410 9th Street), 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- October 17: Pioneer Lounge, Keystone Centre, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- October 22: Brandon City Hall (410 9th Street), 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Mail-In Ballots Available
Voters who are unable to attend a polling station in person or vote at an advance poll may apply to vote by sealed-envelope mail-in ballot.

Special Mobile Polls for Seniors
Advance mobile polling stations will visit several seniors’ residences on October 22, including:
- Westman Lions Manor
- Riverheights Terrace
- Victoria Landing
- Sokol Manor
- Village Green
- Rotary Villas
- Hobbs Manor
- Grand Valley Place
- Winnipeg House
Election Day Voting
Polling stations will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on October 28.
Voters may cast their ballots at any polling location within their ward. In addition, all-ward voting will be available at:
- Brandon Community Sportsplex
- Victoria Inn
- East End Community Centre
- Display Building II
Health-Care Facility Voting
Mobile voting stations will also be available on election day at Brandon Regional Health Centre and Assiniboine Centre, as well as the Assiniboine College/Brandon University site.
Residents of personal care homes will have an opportunity to vote using sealed-envelope ballots.
Bring Identification
Voters will be required to show identification before receiving a ballot.
Acceptable identification includes one piece of government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s licence, or two other documents showing proof of identity and residence or property ownership. At least one document must display the voter’s current address. Examples include a utility bill, bank statement, Manitoba Health card or Social Insurance card.
