Brandon voters will have another opportunity to hear directly from the city’s mayoral candidates before heading to the polls later this month.
The Brandon Chamber of Commerce will host its Breakfast with the Mayoral Candidates on Wednesday morning at the Victoria Inn, bringing together candidates for a discussion focused on the issues facing the city and local business community.
Chamber president Emilio Brown says the event is designed to give attendees a more personal look at the people seeking Brandon’s top elected office.
“We’re going for a fireside chat type of tone, but there will be some hard-ball questions submitted by some of our members,” Brown said.
The event follows a series of candidate debates and campaign appearances as the race for mayor enters its final stretch ahead of election day.
Brown says the breakfast format will allow for a more conversational discussion while still addressing key topics that matter to residents, businesses and community stakeholders.
The event begins at 7 a.m. and includes breakfast. Tickets are $35 plus GST per person.
Advance registration is required, with the registration deadline set for 11:30 a.m. Monday.
The municipal election is scheduled for October 28, with advance voting already underway.
