Jeff Fawcett has been re-elected as Brandon’s mayor.
Fawcett, who has served as Brandon Mayor since 2022, held a roughly 12-18 per cent lead most of the night over challenger Len Isleifson as all 100 per cent of the polls have been reported.
For his platform, he has emphasized the need to address Brandon’s infrastructure and utility needs while managing the city’s finances.
Fawcett has defended property tax increases to help cover budget shortfalls and maintain core services. Fawcett also supports pursuing federal and provincial funding for major municipal projects.
He has expressed openness to smaller data centres if they bring economic benefits and manageable utility demands. His platform also focuses on sustainable growth and community engagement.
This race had been Isleifson’s first in municipal politics, as he served as MLA of Brandon East from 2016 to 2023.
