The Southwest Bantam Cougars are lending a helping hand with their ‘Do It For Don’ fundraiser game.
Southwest is supporting the club’s director of player development and former Wheat King Don Dietrich and his long battle with Parkinson’s.
"Don has given us speeches behind the scenes to help us be better parents, be better kids, to be better players and coaches. Because the kids have so much respect for him, they know there’s a lot riding on the game," team spokesperson David Kirkup said on 880, CKLQ’s Monday Sports Talk this week.
Puck drop is 8 p.m. on Saturday at Killarney’s Shamrock Centre with all the proceeds collected going towards the Parkinson Society of Canada.
