Virden Golden Bear standouts Logan Biccum and Natalie Vachon are taking their talents to Brandon University to ply their trade with the women’s basketball team.
The duo helped their high school team make history by capturing their first-ever ‘AAA’ championship in March.
Biccum earned tournament all-star honours while Vachon was player of the game in the provincial final.
"It’s been my biggest goal since I entered grade nine," said Biccum. "I fell in love with the game in grade nine and I knew I wanted to play basketball at the university level."
"It obviously means a lot," said Vachon. "It’s been a really hard working year for Logan and I and our high school team. We knew that all of our hard work was going towards obviously high school provincials, but also post-secondary."
The recruiting class for the Lady ‘Cats is an all-Westman one to this point with Biccum and Vachon joining Hamiota Huskies’ star Shayna Mathison as the newcomers to the program.
"They just love basketball, that’s their #1," coach Novell Thomas told CKLQ’s Tyler Crayston. "I know their work ethic will put them in a position to be pretty good contributors for us in the future."
