One of my favourite childhood games, The Floor is Lava, is now a tv show. No…I’m serious, it’s a Netflix show, and just debuted today. Much like the game we all played as kids, this show challenges teams of people to cross an obsticle course without touching the ground, and falling into the “lava” below (which kind of looks like orange water and/or Kool-Aid). I’m going to be honest…I LOVE THIS IDEA! It’s basically combining “Legends of the Hidden Temple” with “Wipeout”, and I couldn’t be more excited to see one of my favourite games as a kid come to the small screen.
This also leads me to wonder…what OTHER kids games could make the transition to the silver screen? In addition to The Floor is Lava, we also got a Tag movie…maybe some good old fashioned Kick the Can? Red Rover, perhaps? Only time will tell…
