The Southwest Baseball League has grown to a nine-team circuit for the 2014 season.
The Souris Cardinals are returning to the league after a five year absence while the Elkhorn Expos are joining the league for the first time.
The two teams join the defending champion Hartney Hoppers, Hamiota Red Sox, Wawanesa Brewers, Boissevain Centennials, Deloraine Royals, Melita Beavers and Reston Jays for the 2014 season.
The teams will play a home-and-home against each of the other teams in the league for a 16-game regular season schedule that starts May 21st.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Senior AA Baseball Championship will be held in Hamiota for the second straight season.
Brandon’s Canadian Tire Cardinals won the Provincial title last year.
This year’s event will run from August 8-10.
