The Rural Manitoba High School Football League’s first-ever all-star game is set for Saturday in Winnipeg.
The RMFL is traditionally nine-man, but for this special contest, they’ll play 12-man rules to showcase their players to CIS scouts.
"I think it’s going to be a good opportunity to show them that we play real football out here and I think it’s going to be great exposure for our players," RMFL president Bruce Waddell told CKLQ’s Tyler Crayston.
Kick off is set for 11 a.m. at Investors Group Field, with the rosters featuring both graduating players and young stars.
"It’s going to give us a good mix of up-and-coming players and then some seasoned guys. We wanted to make it a big deal," said Waddell. "There’s a lot of buzz about the game, the players are really excited."
