Ever have one of those days? You know the kind I’m talking about: you burn your lunch, you finally get your car started, only to have it completely die halfway to work…those kind of days. That’s basically my day, in a nutshell.
I call it the Jelly-Side Down Principle, though you may call it Murphy’s Law, which is an old adage that basically means, “If something CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong.”. One thing seems to pile up after another, until you’re crushed under all the bad stuff happening, and you can’t see the good, no matter how hard you try.
If you find yourself in this situation, I believe it’s very important to do your best to stay positive. Remind yourself that there IS good in your life. You have friends who care about you. You have family that loves you. If you’re lucky, you have a pet that’s SUPER eager for you to get home.
I could have let all of the negative things that happened today weigh me down, but I’m doing my best to crawl out of that pit of unhealthy thinking. Tomorrow is a new day, filled with NEW challenges, but the same love and support systems you already have.
Carpe diem!
