The province is reporting no new deaths in people with COVID-19, keeping the toll at 959.
Health officials also announced 108 new cases of the virus increasing the total in Manitoba to 36,267.
Of the new cases; five are in the Northern health region, 10 in Prairie Mountain health, 12 in the Interlake-Eastern health region, 18 in Southern health, and 63 in the Winnipeg health region.
In Prairie Mountain health, a total of 100 cases remain active, 18 of which are in Brandon, and 1,685 across the province. There’s also 62 covid patients currently in hospital, and 15 in intensive care units.
The current five-day test positivity rate increased slightly to 5.7 per cent provincially, up from 5.6 on Sunday (Apr 18). There’s also a total of 711 variant of concern cases in Manitoba, 24 of those have been discovered in the Prairie Mountain health region.
Meantime, the province says an outbreak has been declared at the Dauphin Personal Care Home. The site has been moved to the critical level red on Manitoba’s Pandemic Response System.
And the eligibility list for a vaccine at a super site or pop-up clinic has been expanded to include Manitobans aged 54 or older and First Nation people aged 34 or older. Anyone who has been in Manitoba for one month or more can receive the vaccine at no cost if they meet provincial eligibility requirements.
To date, 341,926 doses of vaccine have been administered including 272,104 first doses and 69,822 second doses.
