On November 15, 2022, Brandon police received information from the Chief Veterinary Office in Manitoba that a 28-year-old Brandon man was in possession of animals, contrary to release conditions. Police say the male suspect led officers to discover the carcasses of 16 kittens and rabbits at his residence. The 28-year-old suspect, Jess Nicols, was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service. He’s to appear in court today on charges of Animal Cruelty X16 and Fail to Comply with Undertaking X18. Two living kittens were taken to a local veterinary clinic.

On November 15, 2022, shortly after 7:00 am, police responded to a report of the theft of a TV from a business in the 900 block of 18th Street N. Police located and arrested the suspect nearby. A 37-year-old man was later released to appear in court on December 29, 2022 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On October 20, 2022, shortly after 10:00 pm, Brandon police received a report of individuals partying on school property on Silverbirch Drive. The party had dispersed prior to police arrival, however further investigation revealed that the suspects had set a garbage can on fire. A suspect was later identified, and on November 15, 2022, police located and arrested a 15-year-old male suspect. He was later released to his family and will appear in court on January 31, 2023 on a charge of Arson Causing Damage. Police continue to investigate.
