Three teenage girls, one 17 and two 18, are all safe after being swept away from shore on an inflatable raft near Delta Beach Wednesday eveningĀ
RCMP say they received a call from one of the girls on the raft who say it was being swept away and her two friends jumped off and attempted to swim to safety.
Officers say they learned a bystander, a 52-year-old woman, jumped into action, swam out and brought one girl to shore. Then swam back out to the second until the police boat arrived, who then picked up the girl on the raft.
Delta Beach is located roughly 25 kilometres north of Portage la Prairie.
