“Whispers in the Wheat” – a movie shot in Brandon and Rossendale is currently hitting the film festival circuit and is expected to be released this fall.

The film was written and directed by Alec Chambers of Muddy River Productions and is the story of a “young con-man who gets more than he bargained for when he searches for his late father’s final score.”
Chambers told https://bdnmb.ca/ he came up with the concept for the movie while attending the Vancouver Film School in 2019-2020 and fleshed it out in March of 2020. After approaching Producer Miles Crossman, at The Grand Illusion Film Company, shooting began last August.
Two of the lead actors are based out of British Columbia while the rest if the cast is from Manitoba.
