The the first time in 20 years, the Tamarack Golf Tournament ended on a Sunday.
Poor weather Saturday forced the postponement of the championship flight finals at the 82nd annual event Saturday, and four of them went ahead on Sunday.
Kody Fawcett took home his first men’s title, winning the first hole at the Clear Lake Golf Course and never losing a hole the rest of the way as he defeated Jarod Crane 6 and 5.
It was a bit of revenge for Fawcett, who had lost the 2013 final to Crane.
Kolby Day won the Junior Men’s title with a 3-and-2 win over Zach Whitecloud; Bobbi Uhl defeated Madison Allen 7-and-5 for her fourth straight Junior Women’s title and the duo of Micki Banks and Holly Scinocca won the inaugural title in the Women’s Scramble division with a 3 and 1 win over Jackie George and Helen Forsythe.
The other three champions were determined without swinging a club when, after Saturday’s postponement, players couldn’t stick around to play on Sunday.
As a result, the higher seeds from qualifying were declared the winners with Kaitlyn Troop taking the Women’s title, Darren Graves the Champion men’s title and Cliff Lenz the Senior Men’s crown.
