Drive-in movies are making a comeback. That, of course, is partly thanks to COVID-19 restrictions. The Winnipeg Airport Authority recently announced they would be holding drive-in movies in their temporary parking at Richardson International Airport. It’ll cost you $30 to get your whole car in and all money earned will be donated to three organizations who are helping battle COVID-19.
Growing up in Winnipeg, going to the drive-in was a staple of the summer season. My husband was famous for waking up Monday morning still parked at the drive-in.
A couple of summers ago, we were camping in Morden and had a chance to take our kids to their first drive-in movie. Sitting in the back of the truck under the stars, watching Hotel Transylvania 3, was awesome. It was the highlight of my daughter’s summer. So is it time to look at a drive-in movie option for Brandon? Would you be interested in taking your family? So if there was one retro movie you could see at a drive-in here in Brandon, what would it be?
