IT'S SHRINKAGE!!
“Seinfeld” is coming to Netflix on October 1st. It’s a simple sentence but enormous news for fans of the iconic 1990s sitcom, widely regarded as one of the best shows of all time. All 180 episodes will be available on the streamer and it’s been a while since Netflix has landed a big (old) show like this. When The Office left for Peacock, Netflix was left with a void in the retro comedy sitcom category.
“Larry and I are enormously grateful to Netflix for taking this chance on us,” Jerry Seinfeld said in a clearly tongue-in-cheek statement. “It takes a lot of guts to trust two schmucks who literally had zero experience in television when we made this thing. We really got carried away I guess. I didn’t realize we made so many of them. Hope to recoup god knows how many millions it must have taken to do. But worth all the work if people like it. Crazy project.”
Netflix’s stock shot up at the news of the official start date, and they released a trailer to introduce everyone to the show they already know.
