COVID-19 has had a massive impact on weddings in 2020. Some couples are opting to wait till 2021, or hold smaller/virtual weddings. So with all these big decisions for Westman couples to make when planning their big day, who knew picking the right wedding song was such a big deal!
In a survey shared by Daily Mail, 5500 UK couples were asked for their first dance song and then asked how they would describe their relationship. They have come up with a list of songs you might want to consider, and a few you might want to pass on.
Couples who danced to Elton John’s “Can You Feel The Love Tonight” are most likely to describe themselves as happy, 77%. As for the least happy? That honor belongs to One Direction’s “Little Things”. 75% of couples who danced to this tune say they are NOT in a happy marriage.
So if you are hoping to pick a song that produces happy marriages , a few other that top the list include:
Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” (75%)
Frank Sinatra’s “The Way You Look Tonight” (74%)
Lea Salonga & Brad Kane’s “A Whole New World” (Aladdin movie): (71%)
Etta James’ “At Last” (71%)
And for the songs, you might want to avoid?
Jason Mraz’s “I’m Yours” (61%)
Snow Patrol’s “Chasing Cars” (56%)
Michael Bublé’s “Everything” (49%)
Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” (42%)
Nooooooo!! Not Ed Sheeran. We’ve had a few couple use this song for their Star Studded Wedding here at the station. I’m sure that one is a mistake. What was your wedding song?
